Hello Flatbush Farm Share Members!

Who would have thought it would be 70 degrees on the last distribution night of the season? It was also a little rainy so we were on the porch, but the warm weather made it seem not so bad that we stayed outside for the entire season. Thank you to everyone who brought food to share to celebrate the end of our second season. It was nice to get to chat with those who hung around a little.

For the final big batch of vegetables, we received butternut squash, sweet potatoes, beets, carrots, turnips, celeriac, green pepper, garlic, bok choy and lettuce (and two kinds of apples for the fruit share). Thank you to Chris and Katie for growing us such wonderful vegetables all season long! Thanks also to the volunteers who worked hard on our last night and every other distribution night to set up tables, carry boxes, weigh vegetables and clean up the site--we wouldn't have a CSA without your help. And a big thanks to all the individuals who spend many hours behind the scenes making our farm share happen. 

I hope to see you all again next year. Enjoy your veggies!

Our veggie share tonight was Romaine lettuce, red onions, butternut squash, spinach, heirloom tomatoes, broccoli rabe, daikon, potatoes, and carrots.

The fruit share included Bosc pears, winesap and empire apples, and sweet sweet concord grapes.

Pasta shares tonight were red beet fettucini.

Thanks to all the volunteers tonight for showing up on time and making our distribution happen. 

We are winding down for the season but don't forget to sign up for your winter shares by Wednesday October 27!

Another beautiful fall evening for farm fresh veggies! The season is almost over but the veggies just keep getting better. This week's share included leeks, turnips, Japanese eggplants, green peppers, deliciously tart green tomatoes, kale, butternut squash, and salad mix. The fruit share was cider(!), and tons of apples.

Thanks to all the volunteers tonight and also to everyone who contibuted to our squash cook-off (or "The Squashening").

Don't forget to sign up for your winter shares by October 27th.
